Our Chelsea FC Foundation camp continues for another year in Cantabria, keeping the objective of learning English and soccer in a fun environment, while in contact with nature, doing different activities and workshops.

This camp is an 'internal' basis, including three daily English classes and two and a half hours of soccer, or Spanish classes.

El Mazo is located in Rada-Voto, next to the Natural Reserve of the Marshes of Santoña, about 12km south of Laredo. It's a fantastic landscape, a gated estate of 32,000 square meters. It has ten fully equipped log cabins for accommodating children and their monitors, a main building that includes the kitchen, dining room and five classrooms for language classes.

Among its excellent sports facilities there is: a swimming pool, sports court (with basketball and soccer), tennis courts, a football field for 11-a-side with natural grass, a soccer sevens field with natural grass, a volleyball court, shooting range with archery, multi-tower equipped with abseiling wall, climbing wall, zip line and rope bridge. Covered and outdoor games zones complete the wonderful location.

Chelsea FC coaches are specifically chosen to go to Spain to train children and adolescents in a dynamic and safe manner. The workouts are adapted to the level of the player to maximize performance and to this end we work with small and personalised groups. We also organize an internal competition to put into practice what they have learned.

A typical program includes:

Level test.

Groups sorted by age and ability.

Training for two hours a day with professional coaches from Chelsea FC Foundation youth academy.

Fundamental basics and specific skills.

Collective games. Individual/collective defensive and attacking tactics. Strategies, striking the ball, dribbling, shooting and finishing, tournaments...

Contests and internal competitions.

Intensive Spanish:

The three daily classes are dynamic and participatory and are taught by qualified native teachers, to small groups of different levels. Students not only learn Spanish in a fun way, but they will develop their language, acquiring grammatical concepts and specific vocabulary, which apply directly when training.

Upon completion of the camp, our students show great motivation for further progress in their learning.

The multi-adventure program includes:

Mountain biking in the Aras Valley, canoeing on the Rada river, hiking in the nearby mountains, archery, climbing wall, abseiling, Tibetan bridge, workshops, introduction to caving with a visit to a nearby cave and other nature activities.

All activities are developed according to the age and ability of the participants. Personalised attention for all participants by specialist instructors (one monitor for every seven participants).

Different and fun activities after dinner and a day excursion will complete this fantastic program.
